At KKFS, we believe that every student deserves the support they need in order to thrive. Our support specialists are committed to ensuring our students reach their full potential. Guided by our motto–Explore, Reflect, Apply–our support team continually explores new strategies to best support our students, reflects on how to best implement these strategies into their practice, and applies these strategies with the purpose of better supporting our students.

English Language Support
Pull-out ELL
Our ELL program supports students with targeted language instruction outside the mainstream classroom. Students are grouped according to their proficiency levels and individual learning needs, allowing us to deliver focused lessons that build their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. ELL teachers work closely with the classroom teachers to ensure alignment with the curriculum, helping students bridge language gaps while fully participating in their academic journey. In addition, our Explore, Reflect, Apply philosophy fosters confidence and academic independence, essential traits that ELL students can transfer into their regular classroom experiences.
Push-in ELL
Our push-in ELL program works in conjunction with our pull-out program to ensure students receive consistent language development across subjects. ELL teachers join students inside their mainstream classroom, providing real-time language support seamlessly during the lessons. This allows students to access grade level content while receiving targeted assistance with vocabulary and grammar. ELL teachers work closely with classroom teachers to help reinforce lesson objectives and promote full classroom participation to ensure that language development and content learning occur simultaneously.
Social-emotional Support
The Social-Emotional Counseling program provides individual counseling, group sessions, and workshops tailored to the developmental needs of students across all grade levels. At KKFS, we believe that students thrive when their emotional and social needs are supported alongside their academic growth.
Elementary students build self awareness, emotional regulation, and positive peer relationships through targeted support and small group work. In middle and high school, the focus expands to include managing stress, academic pressure, self-esteem, and mental health challenges. We also provide crisis intervention and collaborate with teachers, families, and mental health professionals to ensure each student receives well-rounded support.
College Counseling Support
The College Counseling program at KKFS is dedicated to guiding each student through their unique journey toward higher education, whether they’re considering universities in Korea, returning to their home countries, or exploring opportunities around the globe. We provide personalized support that honors the diverse backgrounds, aspirations, and talents of our international student body.
We offer comprehensive services including one-on-one counseling sessions, university visits/fairs, workshops, and guidance through the complex landscape of global admissions requirements. We work closely with students to help them discover institutions that align with their academic interests, cultural preferences, and career goals. We believe that finding the right university fit is about more than just rankings—it’s about connecting students with environments where they will truly thrive and reach their highest potential, as we Merlins do.
